“There is a Zone whose even Years
No Solstice interrupt —
Whose Sun constructs perpetual Noon
Whose perfect Seasons wait —
Whose Summer set in Summer, till
The Centuries of June
And Centuries of August cease
And Consciousness — is Noon. “

Praise for Centuries Of August -
"...This is a howl of rage capturing a moment simultaneously temporary and eternal, something both unique and universal. To describe it as cathartic is to undersell just what Centuries of August achieves. This is an incredible record, and it should be considered among the best black metal releases of the year." - Astral Noize
"That Centuries of August takes the lo-fi production values of the genre to its more extreme limits is integral to its appeal: the fact it’s so murky as to border on the frustrating is a source of power here, accentuating the oppressive density of the compositions to a level of intensity that hurts" - Aural Aggravation
"I love this record. I love its rage. It’s raw and relentless, but I still find some kind of serenity in the savage blur of noise. In its way, it’s just as calming as the gentlest of post-rock. It’s as if someone else has taken all of my frustration and helplessness and screamed it away into the void for me and has left me cleansed." - Echoes And Dust
"Severely dark black metal from the UK, it's lo-fi production status a badge on its sleeve using sonic vagaries to lure you into a questionable, unrecognizable chasm. As thundering drums and distortion-flecked riffs flicker like flame, the (non-linear) lines between instrumentation and vocals sonically blur into a splattered, organic mess that is raw, exuding helplessness" - Metal Injection
"The wall of sound rushing towards you is aggressive, destructive, gloomy and pitch-dark. At first, there doesn't seem to be a slit of light to penetrate once it goes idle, and you have to do your best to hear nuance in the music. There is indeed one, and moreover, the hard, incoming metal storms are interspersed with intriguing ambient soundscapes." - Opduvel
"...minimal and stripped back black metal sound, situated somewhere between the buzzing menace of early Paysage d’Hiver and the depressive dirges of Xasthur. Following a demo and a handful of compilation tracks, debut album Centuries Of August is an impressively cohesive and convincingly sinister listening experience, weaving together incredibly harsh, blasting black metal with unbearably ominous keys." - The Quietus

Thank Goddess for this wondrous album, which I should have picked up aeons ago. The otherworldly atmosphere this trio weaves is utterly intoxicating and wholly (holy) their own.
Sincerest thanks for putting this and Feminazgul’s other albums in the feed today @Sælzer Bub; your timing was impeccable! MJ

Some of the best raw black metal I’ve heard in a while. So many infectious riffs it’s absurd. Easily my favorite release from lamp of Murmuur. HyperboreanFrost
